Mr. Piyush Goyal, Head – Corporate Services, TATA Power-DDL participated in a panel discussion titled ‘Changing the Nutrition Conservation’ at the National Nutrition Conclave, organised by CII at New Delhi. Mr. Goyal discussed about the existing CSR projects with main emphasis on Project Bhojanam, Health & Women Empowerment at Tata Power-DDL and how Health & Nutrition aspect always go hand in hand. He also threw light on company’s upcoming projects Project Arogya in line with the Governments ‘POSHAN Abhiyaan’. Further,  he laid emphasis on the Impact4Nutrtion program and addressed the multi-dimensionality of Nutrition, the role of various stakeholders in improving nutrition through public-private and multi-stakeholder partnerships.

India is a signatory to the SDGs, of which Nutrition is a key element. The government has also made Nutrition a key plank of its agenda and announced Poshan Abhiyaan as a key initiative.

Poshan Abhiyaan is India’s flagship programme to improve the country’s nutritional outcomes for children, adolescents, pregnant women, lactating mothers by leveraging technology.

CII has prioritized Nutrition in its national agenda and constituted a National Committee on Nutrition. The Committee works with key players in the private sector, development agencies, regulatory agencies, state and the central government towards furthering the cause and actions that will enhance Nutrition.

The Conclave organised gave an opportunity to Government, Development Agencies, Private Organisations, Industries and related stakeholders to come together to deliberate on critical challenges and emerging opportunities, with a view to creating a roadmap for thoughtful action that will strengthen the ecosystem for nutrition.

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) is a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of NCT of Delhi with the majority stake being held by Tata Power Company (51%). Tata Power-DDL distributes electricity in North & North West parts of Delhi and serves a populace of 7 million. The company started operations on July 1, 2002 post the unbundling of the erstwhile Delhi Vidyut Board (DVB). With a registered consumer base of 1.8 million and a peak load of around 2106 MW, the company's operations span across an area of 510 sq. kms. Tata Power-DDL has been the front-runner in implementing power distribution reforms in the capital city and is acknowledged for its consumer friendly practices. Since privatization, the Aggregate Technical & Commercial (AT&C) losses in Tata Power-DDL areas have shown a record decline. AT&C loss is a measure of overall efficiency of the distribution business which is the difference between units input into the system and the units for which the payment is collected. Today, AT&C losses stand at 7.3 % which is an unprecedented reduction of around 84% from an opening loss level of 53% in July 2002.
